The Specialized Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) determined that the analyst and political scientist Denise Dresser committed political violence on the basis of gender against Morenoist deputy Andrea Chávez and imposed a fine of 20,748 pesos.

In public session, the magistrates approved to apply the sanctionwhich may still be controversial before the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Courtby determining that the statements of dresser poured into the Analysis table with Loret –in which he suggested that the Representative Andrea Chávez she was girlfriend of Former Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López– exceed the freedom of expression and journalistic exercisein addition to reproduce stereotypes and symbolic, psychological, verbal and digital violence.
The Specialized Room also ordered Denise Dresser issue a public apology to Andrea Chávez, publish an excerpt of the sentence on her X account and take a course on political violence against women based on gender.
Once the sentence is final, Denise Dresser will be registered in the National Registry of Persons Sanctioned in Matters of Political Violence against Women for Gender Reasons (RNPS) and will remain there for a year and six months.
