Four arrested for armed attack at Sonora party – El Sol de México

State authorities detained four people related to the attack on a XV birthday party in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, which currently has a balance of eight people dead and 24 injured.

The governor of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo Montaño, reported that along with the alleged criminals, the vehicle that was used to carry out the crime, assault rifles and drugs, which were in the possession of the suspects at the time of arrest, were seized.

“I recognize our elements and members of the State Security Board, who acted expeditiously to achieve these results. We will not let our guard down to continue working to safeguard the safety of all Sonorans,” he wrote in his X account.

Two more die

The number of fatalities from the armed attack on a party in the city rose to eight. Cajeme Colony of Ciudad Obregón with the death of two of the people who were seriously injured in the early hours of Friday, December 29.

According to state authorities, most of the injured are out of danger and even, at least 13 were discharged hours after entering the hospital to receive first aid.

Early this Friday, armed men burst into a meeting shooting at attendees, in a direct attack on an alleged criminal leader, leaving an initial balance of six people dead, and including the target of the attack and 26 more.
