Gustavo Petro suspends cabinet meeting with Ecuador after assault on the Mexican embassy – El Sol de México

The Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, announced this Monday the suspension of the next meeting of the binational cabinet with Ecuador as a result of the entry of that country’s police force into the Mexican embassy in Quito, a fact that he described as “serious.”

“The bilateral cabinet with Ecuador that had been planned with President Lasso (sic) has been suspended,” Petro said on his X account.

This meeting, to discuss bilateral issues, was scheduled for April 25 in the Colombian city of Ipiales, in the department of Nariño, bordering Ecuador.
