The head of government, Martí Batres Guadarrama, estimated that at the end of January 2024 the elevated section of the highway will open to the public. Metro Line 12since the works that were carried out have already been completed.
During the presentation of Balance of Achievements of the Government of Mexico Citythe president announced that the reopening of this route, since yesterday he announced the completion of the civil works to reinforce the elevated section.
“We have the expectation that at the end of January the Metro will be open to users of this Line 12”, he mentioned.
According to the capital government, among the works carried out are the reconstruction of three clearings: two between Tezonco and Olivos, and the other between Nopalera and Zapotitlán.
In addition, the structure was reinforced with 257 spans. They also reinforced the existing structure with an additional support structure with struts, diaphragms and turnbuckles.
“This elevated section had a series of phases, 250 clearings were built little by little. All the work that involves columns, struts, girders, all the metal work, the major civil work of the elevated civil section of Line 12 is completed before the end of this year,” said the head of government.

Batres Guadarrama He also mentioned that in the coming weeks they will carry out finishing work, mechanical cleaning, load tests and operational tests.
