Messages created with drones to – El Sol de México

The race towards the 2024 elections is increasingly active, and as shown by the messages in support of the Broad Front candidate for Mexico, Xóchitl Gálvez, that appeared in the sky over Mexico City this Thursday.

“Check out what happened today in CDMX. The sky never lies. If you look carefully, there will be signs everywhere,” the candidate wrote.

“Happy end to AMLO”, “No + innocents” and the name of the candidate were some of the phrases that were read from various points of the city thanks to the clear sky.

Hours before, Xóchitl Gálvez announced through his x account (formerly Twitter) that during the night there would be a show in the Azcapotzalco and Coyocán municipalities.

However, the promotion carried out tonight – at least on social networks – was not completely well received, as several users criticized that the pre-candidate’s campaign focuses on this type of actions and instead of on a government project.

On the same Thursday, the National Electoral Institute (INE) announced that Xóchitl Gálvez has spent 41 million 498 thousand 724 pesos so far in the pre-campaign.

Of this amount, the presidential candidate of the Frente Amplio por México allocated 17 million 291 thousand 965 pesos to propaganda on public roads.

On January 21, 2024, political parties will have to present their pre-campaign spending report to the INE so that on February 21 the Oversight Commission approve it and on February 23 it will be discussed in the General Council of the electoral referee.

In the event that the electoral authority detects unreported expenses and with these any of the pre-candidates exceeds the limit of pre-campaign expenses, set at 660 million pesos, the INE will impose sanctions that could go up to the cancellation of the candidacy’s registration.
