Old Trafford was overtaken by modernity. It could be demolished! – The Sun of Mexico

He Old Trafford Stadiumiconic home of Manchester United, faces possible demolition due to its deteriorated conditions. This venue, with a rich history and numerous iconic moments, is in a state that raises concerns about its long-term viability.

Among the reasons for this drastic measure is the interest of Jim Ratcliffe, the director of INEOS who acquired 25% of the club. He faced the monumental task of injecting around £380m to modernize the stadium. But it is a necessary investment to keep the great “Theater of Dreams” alive.

Within the club they have already started with some architectural studies. It is said that the new project would be carried out by the Populous Architectural Company, those in charge of the Tottenham Stadium, inaugurated in 2019. Christopher Lee, the director of the construction company, hopes that with the arrival of the new partner to the team, the idea can be launched as soon as possible. They consider that “A very detailed exercise must be carried out on what should be done in the stadium.”

Modernity in Premier League It’s coming little by little. Although they tend to be very “traditional” with their venues, some clubs began restructuring.

First was the old one Wembley, which suffered the same fate that the Manchester United home is pointing to. It collapsed and on that same space, the new building that is the home of the England National Team was created.

Likewise, Arsenal left behind its traditional Highbury to make way for the Emirates Stadium. In 2006, the new Arsenal stadium was inaugurated, leaving behind its classic home, where dozens of joys were experienced and where the Invincibles were seen.
