Pemex reports that the water contaminant in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office is a mixture of oils – El Sol de México

The contaminant in the water to the northwest of the Benito Juárez Mayor’s Office is a mixture of different oils and other degraded components, Pemex reported.

“It is a mixture of different oils and other degraded components, confirming that it is a substance belonging to the family of oils and lubricants,” Javier Emiliano González, director of Pemex Logistics, said in a conference.

“To reach this conclusion, detailed studies were carried out that show the very low concentration of that compound in the water, undetectable in the first tests,” he added.

He indicated that Pemex also carried out airtightness tests and internal inspection on the pipeline that passes 500 meters from the Alfonso XIII well without finding any cracks, leaks or clandestine taps.

However, it was not reported how the well was contaminated.
