The mayor of Cuauhtémoc, Sandra Cuevas, who yesterday missed the Mexico City Congress because she claimed to be sick, went this afternoon to the strong fire that was registered in the Tepito warehouse area.
Cuevas arrived at the door from where the fire trucks dispatch. The Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office has not yet confirmed the number of workers they are supporting to put out the flames.
A similar fire occurred in the area a year ago. The tennis warehouse near Oasis Plaza was consumed by flames.
On December 19, 2022, it took firefighters more than four hours to put out the fire in the warehouse located on González Ortega Street, corner of Eje 1 Norte. The then head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, ruled out that it was an incident caused by threats or extortion in Tepito.
