A confrontation that occurred on Saturday morning between elements of the Municipal Public Security Directorate (DSPM) of Jerez, Zacatecas, and a group of armed individuals, left a balance three police officers injured and three civilians dead.
The events occurred in the Popular Front neighborhood around 3:00 a.m. when armed subjects from inside a vehicle they began to shoot directly at the facade of a house.
Elements of the DSPM responded to the emergency call and moved to the scene, where were shot. The uniformed officers repelled the attack. According to local residents, The confrontation lasted about half an hour.
Three police officers who were injured in the melee, they were taken to the hospital for medical attention, although authorities have not released the severity of their injuries. Nor has it been possible to identify the aggressors or which criminal group they belonged to.

Around seven in the morning, personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGJE) secured the house that was initially shot at and which was the point where the confrontation began that extended to Galeana Street.
