Cher requests legal guardianship of her 47-year-old son Elijah Blue Allman – El Sol de México

Cher is in the news again, but not precisely because of some new musical release, but rather because of a family issue that, for the moment, has monopolized the spotlight.

The singer is in the eye of the hurricane after having requested custody of her son Elijah Blue Allman, who is 47 years old, but he is already an adult, why request custody? Today we will reveal to you just the details of this case that goes back a little to the custody that Britney Spears once had in charge of her father.

Why is Cher requesting guardianship of her son?

Cher has requested guardianship of her son with the aim of being the “sole curator of Elijah’s estate” claiming that he is “substantially unable to manage his financial resources due to alleged substance abuse problems,” People magazine revealed.

According to the publication, legal documents were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, which state that although Elijah must receive assets from the trust before the end of the year, “A conservator is needed to protect your property from loss or injury.”

“He is currently unable to manage his assets due to serious mental health and substance abuse issues,” details the request.

The interpreter explained in said documentation that her son’s ex-wife, Marieangela King, is not considered suitable to be Elijah’s guardian.

“Their tumultuous relationship has been marked by cycles of drug addiction and mental health crises,” Cher noted.

Likewise, he expressed concern that any funds distributed to Elijah would immediately be spent on drugs, leaving him with no assets to support himself and endangering his life.
