Students and activists set up camp at CU in support of Palestine – El Sol de México

A group of students, academics and activists were installed this Thursday in the University City of the UNAM, a camp in protest against the State of Israelderived from their armed attacks on the town of Palestine.

At the stroke of noon the group of protesters began to place tents between the TRector’s Tower, the Central Library and the Faculty of Philosophy and Lettersto demand, among other things: the Israel ceasefire against Palestine and that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador breaks relations with the Jewish state as President Gustavo Petro did in Colombia.

Last Tuesday, a group calling itself “Interuniversity and Popular Assembly in Solidarity with the People of Palestine”made up of people who identified themselves as students, academics, university workers and members of popular and feminist organizations, agreed to hold an indefinite sit-in next to the UNAM Rectorate to support Palestine, as university students in the United States did recently. and which led to the arrest of the protesters.

Random to the installation of this camp, a similar group hung banners in favor of Palestine in the facilities of the College of Mexico (Colmex) and at this moment he is holding an assembly and collecting signatures in support of the same cause in favor of Palestine.
